Yellowstone National Park was the first National Park and was established in 1872. It holds an amazing world of wildlife from grizzly bears to the awesome bison. Yellowstone National Park is known and famous for Old Faithful an awesome and beautiful geyser. You can also see some of their amazing waterfalls such as Yellowstone River Falls. Also if you and the family would like to do some fishing for some trout you can do that at the Yellowstone Lake. If you want to see some of the most amazing limestone formations then you will want to visit the Mammoth Hot Springs. Also 29 miles from the cities center you can visit the Canyon Village. If you’re interested in going horseback riding then you will want to make a trip to the Yellowstone Wilderness Outfitters. You can also see and visit 9 visitor centers and museums that are full of Yellowstone history and see many historical structures for instance, the Old Faithful Inn, and the Fort Yellowstone, which details the history of the National Park Service and the development of the park.

At 336 miles, this is the longest system of caves in the world. There is plenty of exploring you and the family can do while visiting Mammoth Cave National Park. You can take the family on a tour of many different limestone filled caves such as Mammoth Cave or the Wild Cave. Another wonderful and exciting place you will want to see is the Mammoth Cave Wildlife Museum; this zoo features the most beautiful exotic big cats, lions, tigers, and the ultra-rare snow leopard as well as many other wildlife and marine life. If you would like to take the family snorkeling you will want to visit Echo River it runs through Mammoth Cave and is filled with blind fish that you can see in its dark waters. There is also a short trail inside Mammoth Cave called Tall Man’s Misery.

The Great Smokey Mountains National Park has more to offer than just a view from inside your car as you’re passing through. If you want to get the real experience of what the Smokey’s are about then you and your family will surely enjoy taking a hike on one of the 800 miles of trails it has to offer. Along the way you can see many log cabins and beautiful waterfalls and even some elk. Also if you want to see the highest peak of the park you will want to visit the Clingman’s Dome. There is also some wonderful hiking that can be done on Abrams Falls Trail it’s 3.4 miles from the cities center. When you’re ready to just enjoy an afternoon picnic you can enjoy with the family you can visit the Chimney’s Picnic Area or the Greenbrier Picnic Area. If you want to take the family on a scenic road trip you will enjoy the beautiful scenery that can be seen while driving the Little River Road that goes through the Great Smokey Mountains. Toledo is a great place to visit if you’re looking to explore museums, play some golf or maybe take in the scenery at the Toledo Botanical Garden. It’s a great place for family fun.   • Rocky Mountain National Park in Estes Park, Colorado

The Rocky Mountain National Park is place you and the family can come and enjoy the many things Mother Nature has to offer such as the beautiful morning glow of the peak of a mountain top or catch the glimpse of mother nature running wild in the open and through the trees and in the evening you can listen to the sounds of the coyotes howling. The Rocky Mountain National Park has plenty of trails for you to take the family hiking on to see the amazing world around you.   • Theodore Roosevelt National Park in Medora, North Dakota

Theodore Roosevelt National Park was named after the U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt in honor of his achievements in conversation as president. The park extends over 110 square miles in three sections: the North and South Units and the Elkhorn Ranch Unit. While visiting Theodore Roosevelt National Park you and the family might just be able to see a glimpse of some bison, elk, mule, and maybe even some white tailed deer. You’re sure to want to try and catch a look at the pronghorn antelope and the cute little prairie dogs you might even spot a coyote along a trail. While visiting Rome you can see lots of sculptures, explore the seven hills or see what other wonderful charm and beauty Rome has to offer you and your family while visiting. The Galleria Borghese is a small museum with beautiful sculptures by Bernini. Ancient Rome is another great place to see it’s full of historical sites and ancient ruins. You might even decide you want to take a stroll through the Vatican Gardens for a picnic or just to absorb all the wonderful beauty. Puerto Vallarta is on the Mexican Riviera and has the most beautiful golden sandy beaches. Hartley’s Undersea Walk is the original one that was started in Bermuda in the 1958. The two Hartley’s is run today by the son of the man who originally started it. In Toronto you can enjoy the cultural attractions and the urban living. The CN Tower is the tallest structure in the world and is also a very important telecommunications hub. The SkyDome is right next door to the Tower and is where you can take the family to catch a Blue Jays game or just take a look around the awesome stadium. The Royal Ontario Museum is the largest in Canada and has lots of fascinating archeological and historical exhibits. You and the family can also head to the Harbour front that is full of shops and restaurants and sits right on the Lake of Ontario. In Oahu, Hawaii you can enjoy the nice tropical breeze and an awesome oceanfront view. Also in Oahu you can visit the royal quarters of IoIani Palace and take a tour of Pearl Harbor. Take the family on a hike to the Makapuu Lighthouse on the South Shore you may even learn to hula. Quebec City is perched on the banks of the St. Lawrence and 150 miles from Montreal. Vieux Quebec (Old Quebec) is the historic part OF Quebec City which was founded I 1608. And is the only remaining walled city north of Mexico in North America. The lower part of town contains historic church Notre-Dame des Victoires and lots of very old buildings. The Montmorency Falls Park is 275 foot falls on the Montmorency River tower higher than even the Niagara Falls. The Plains of Abraham Park is located in downtown Quebec City and would be great place to take in the sights maybe even have a picnic with the family as you take in the view of the St. Lawrence River. The Choco-Musee Erico is a chocolate museum and also a nice chocolate factory where people who visit can learn all about the history of cocoa, from Mayan times. The museum has more than 200 artifacts on display and you can watch the chocolate makers make many of the chocolate treats from handmade chocolates to chocolate cookies that are made on site.

Cape Canaveral and its neighbor the Kennedy Space Center have become known for its space travel in the U.S. The first phases of the U.S. Space program were conducted at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station which is now a historical landmark and is home to the Air Force Space Missile Museum. Another historical site is the Cape Canaveral Lighthouse. Funntasia Fantasy Golf and Games has two 18- hole golf courses for you to play on. They both include waterfalls and tropical landscaping throughout the course along with a variety of birds. You can take the family deep sea diving or to go see the manatee at the Manatee Sanctuary Park.   • Lincoln, New Hampshire

Lincoln, New Hampshire is a large part of the White Mountain national Forest. At the White Mountain National Forest there are plenty of things for you and your family to do from camping to walking along hiking trails or maybe even take a scenic drive through some historical landmarks. There are tourist trains and even natural attractions. The Alpine Adventures Outdoor Recreation consists of 14 zip lines on 2 separate courses covering over 2 miles. Each tour also consist of an off road safari. You can visit the Whales Tale Waterpark and the Loon Mountain which is New Hampshire’s big skiing area. The Hobo Railroad is another very scenic place along with the Indian Head.

  • Millinocket, Maine

Millinocket, Maine is a place where those who enjoy small towns can appreciate this one. This natural beauty of this region is described in Henry David Thoreaus book and was first settled in 1830 by Thomas Fowler.  Millinocket offers many summer activities including hiking, camping, river rafting and nature watching you can even go kayaking. In the winter you can go snowmobiling, do some cross- country skiing. You can take a tour to so you can take photos of the moose that live there amongst the wildlife. Baxter State Park is another great place that you can visit and maybe even get lucky and spot some moose and features the Mount Katahdin which is the largest mountain in Maine. Mount Katahdin is located at the northern end of the Appalachian Trail and its tallest peak stands at 5, 267 feet. The Moose Prints Gallery and Gifts is a must stop before you leave from vacationing in Millinocket it has life size moose images on stretched canvas wraps to miniature oil paintings.

The City of Homestead is the second oldest city in Miami-Dade County. The area opened to homesteaders in 1898 and the only way in or out was through a path called the Homesteaders Trail. Coral Castle for years this work of art has fascinated people from all over the world. The Coral Castle’s creator carved his fantasy world out of stone with homemade tools and it took 28 years to create it.  Also if you like race car you will want to stop by the Homestead Miami Speedway and catch a race or two with the family. The Biscayne National Underwater Park offers two adventures from the Boca Chita Lighthouse Adventure and Ranger Led Island Trips and Snorkel in Biscayne Bay. The Richard Petty Driving Experience is another exciting thing you and your family can do while on vacation in Homestead.

If you have any kind of an interest in history and enjoy being in the outdoors then you will enjoy vacationing in Great Falls. Great Falls is deep in the tradition of the Old West and full of historical buildings and important landmarks. If you want a fantastic view of the Missouri River then the 24 mile River’s Edge Trail is where you want to go. If you love Mother Nature and watching her in her natural habitat then you will enjoy watching these birds at the Benton Lake Wildlife refuge.

Santa Rosa has lots of redwoods and rolling hills and plenty of things to help you pass the time while visiting on vacation. The Matanzas Creek Winery offers a beautiful Estate garden full of spectacular blooming lavender all year long. The Charles M. Schulz Museum is one where everyone can enjoy learning about the history of Snoopy and the “Peanuts” gang. Portsmouth is a wonderful place to see some old homes and museums and plenty of historical sites to see. You can climb aboard the USS Albacore which is a retired Navy submarine that offers tours and has plenty of exhibits for you and your family to enjoy learning about. Visit the Strawbery Banke Museum is a 10 acre outdoor museum that will let you trace the history of Portsmouth. Market Square is the center of the activity with its awesome art galleries, bookstores, and antique shops for you to enjoy exploring and shopping through and many original 17th century buildings. Prescott Park has a wonderful garden for you to enjoy and plenty of spots that you and your family can choose from to maybe sit down and enjoy a picnic and listen to the animals of Mother Nature. Also while visiting Portsmouth don’t forget to take a hike on the Portsmouth Harbour Trail which is pretty similar to the Boston’s Freedom Trail in the way that it links together many historical sites and the colorful Prescott Park.

Steamboat Springs is a ski town but also a ranching center and is a very down home place to be. Strawberry Park Hotsprings is perfect for that relaxation and with just a bit on the ruggedness side. Saddleback Ranch is a 8,000 acre fourth generation cattle ranch where you and the family can go and visit and enjoy a relaxing day riding, working cattle, and seeing the most amazing scenery and Saddleback Ranch is located in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. You can also take enjoy a wonderful hike on a trail to Fish Creek Falls where you can enjoy the breath taking view of the water fall. Yampa River Botanic Park is a place to see wonderful wildflowers and fauna.   • Charleston, West Virginia

Charleston was once a frontier town and the home of Daniel Boone. Charleston has many different historical and cultural sites to see. You can see historical statues of historic figures such as Stonewall Jackson and Abraham Lincoln. The State Museum traces back history of West Virginia through its wonderful exhibits to the telescope that George Washington used to survey lands with. Midland Trail is one of the oldest and most scenic routes in the U.S. and offers 119 mile journey across south central West Virginia. Some take the Greenbrier Trail which offers 80 miles of hiking and biking paths. Heritage Towers exhibits tribute to a time honored African American tradition celebrated as Black History Month. Before you leave from your vacation in Charleston you must see the Governor’s Mansion it was built in 1924 and was the home of the Governor of West Virginia.

  • Cherokee,North Carolina

Cherokee, North Carolina is the same mountains where the Cherokees have maintained their traditions for generations and proudly preserve a culture far older than the new nation that now surrounds them.  You can see also while visiting Cherokee, the “Unto These Hills” outdoor drama and teaches you of the story of the Cherokee from a historical perspective and teaches you of the heartbreak of the Trails of Tears.  The Cherokee Indian Reservation is located adjacent to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and Blue Ridge Parkway and is the home to more than 12,500 members of the Cherokee Indian Nation. The Oconaluftee Indian Village is a replica of a 1750s Cherokee Village where you can see Cherokee making traditional trades and using century’s old techniques. You can also visit the Village Square Grounds where this is a place for ceremony and learn of traditional songs and dance. While inside the village you can visit the Council House where you can learn of the government, family and structure of the Cherokee people.

Sioux Falls is a great place to visit and see the Falls Park where you can see light shows and learn about the history of Sioux Falls. The USS South Dakota Battleship Memorial is one of the most honored and decorated battleships of World War II and has many artifacts for you to see. The Old Courthouse Museum holds many historical exhibits. The Great Plains Zoo and Delbridge Museum of Natural History, which the zoo offers an up close look at over a 1,000 animals from anteaters to porcupines.  The Delbridge Museum is a treasure that holds one of a kind collection of 150 mounted animals and includes 36 vanishing species. There is plenty to do and learn about the history of this wonderful town where there is something for everyone.

Portland is a friendly city located in the Pacific Northwest with great scenery. The Japanese Gardens is one of the largest displays of its kind outside of Japan. The International Rose Test Garden and Washington Park are a few other things you and the family might enjoy while visiting. The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry has plenty of exhibits and the planetarium which has fascinating laser light shows and fantastic productions. The Portland Art Museum is the oldest art museum and was founded in 1892 and now holds a collection of over 40,000 works of art. Another great place is the Portland Children’s Museum where you can make as many splashes as you wish in the Water Works or move some dirt in the Dig Pit or even let the children direct a show in Play it Again Theater. You can hear stories under a treehouse or grab a snack from the Caterpillar Café. There is something for everyone here in Portland just let your imagination explore.

  • Pittsburg , Pennsylvania

Pittsburg was built by the industry of steel and coal, but has long since moved on from the industry past to become more than just that. The Duquesne Incline is where you want to go if you’re ready to scale Mount Washington on one of the two original cable cars for a breath taking ride and an awesome view of Pittsburg. The Carnegie Science Center and the Heinz History Center hold worlds of information and history for everyone to enjoy learning and discovering about. The Children’s Museum of Pittsburg is another family must see that offers a wide variety of exhibits and art projects and is under 3 roofs because of how large it is. The Pittsburg Zoo and PPG Aquarium is one of the few major zoos and aquariums combinations in America , and is located on 77 acres featuring thousands of animals in habitats such as “ The Asian Forest” and “ The Cheetah Valley”. There is lots of fun for everyone to enjoy in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania.
